The National Institutes of Health (NIH) is the United States’ premier governmental biomedical research organization and one of the great research institutions of the world. In addition to funding much of the biomedical research at universities and medical schools throughout the United States, the NIH spends billions of dollars on intra-mural research at its main laboratories in Bethesda, Maryland. This in-house research has resulted in a large world-wide patent portfolio. The NIH has selected some of the best patent firms in the United States to serve as outside patent counsel. Klarquist Sparkman is proud to have represented the NIH since 1997.
