Practice Areas Andy's practice focuses on patent litigation and counseling, as well as ex parte and inter partes patent reexaminations. Andy is also a registered patent attorney.
Andy's litigation experience includes Markman and summary judgment strategy and briefing, working with expert witnesses on infringement and invalidity positions, oral argument of non-dispositive motions, taking of depositions and development of key case theories and discovery strategies. His practice spans both competitor-to-competitor and NPE litigation and includes representation of both single and multiple defendants within joint defense group settings. Andy's counseling experience includes providing clients with freedom to operate and patent clearance opinions.
Andy also has extensive experience with European litigation and invalidity proceedings (Germany and the U.K.), working closely with foreign and in-house counsel on development and execution of global litigation strategies. This work has included preparation for, and attendance at, a German patent infringement trial. |
Technical Expertise With a degree in electrical engineering & computer science, Andy’s legal experience includes representation of clients on matters involving diverse technologies such as cardiac rhythm management (CRM), computer software and technologies, electronic design automation (EDA), telecommunications devices and networks, optical films and displays and implantable medical devices. |
